![]() Nothing beats Ti Conveyors and Conduits for transportation. The same holds true for fluid physics as well. They all make transport resources and liquids slower. All introduce latency which reduces throughput. ![]() ![]() You can see that the dealy is increased with each Junction that is introduced.īoth gifs demonstrate how poorly chaining together these block becomes and how much delay it causes in transporting those ever so important materials and liquids to their destinations. All of those lines were started at precisely the same time. The more Junctions you chain together the more you increase the delay.Įxhibit B This gif demonstrates how poorly junction chains works. Latency can be more simply defined as Delay. This is because a Junction has an invisible stat called latency. The more Junctions you place side by side the slower the connections become. The copper simply takes a tremendous amount of time to reach it's destination.Įxhibit B demonstrates how poorly junction chains work. As I said before the Routers are back feeding into each other and this has a tremendous effect on throughput. Pay special attention to line C, the Router chain. Line A is Conveyors, line B is a Junction chain, line C is a Router chain, line D is a Bridge chain. Now multiply that by every router you place side by side in a chain and you have now created an increasingly slow chain of routers.Įxhibit A This gif is a bit old but the point still stands firm. You will see in Exhibit A when you place two routers side by side they will attempt to back feed into each other and moving your resources becomes incredibly slow. Router chains and Junction chains are incredibly slow. I will briefly touch on the Inverted Sorter Chains at the end. The exception to this rule came with the recent introduction of Inverted Sorters (Mindustry v99)and the inevitable Inverted Sorter chains. Nothing beats TitaniumConveyors and Conduits for throughput and getting your resources and fluids to your Core or front line. I'm going to just come right out and say it. As I play more and more on multiplayer and Discord servers I see a lot of fuss and debate on servers about whether or not using Router and Junctions chains are good or bad and I thought this would be a great topic for discussion.
